The ESPERANTO ... AND THE SEA OF SENIGALLIA

of Franco Giannini

... ended the week course for beginners, but not only ...

On 1 beginners' course, organized by Aldo and Daniela Grassini of 'Italian Association for the Blind Esperanto, had its first location as the Anchor Hotel on the seafront of Mameli Cesano di Senigallia. Why this course of three hours daily for a total of 18 hours, it's all in the fact that the spouses Grassini, wanted to offer their guests, as well as the opportunity to learn, yes, the basic rules of language without borders, designed by Zamenhof, a short break after the engagement "school" would guarantee a bit 'of relaxing and sunbathing on the sand velvet why not, a refreshing bath. Although, Aldo confesses, "... first day with the time that dog has done, we were wearing tight clothes."
still tells Aldo Grassini, who never thought to receive many accessions, a real unexpected success, if you think that the members of the course, including relatives and carers have been about forty. Considering that the announcement had been made on the pages of magazines written in Braille.
Just then, the organizers were forced to divide the candidates in Esperanto two groups of students, entrusting the conduct of the first to Mr. Pier Luigi Da Costa of Lucca, while the chair was made of the second seat Mrs. Ana Montesinos, of English nationality, as its name denotes, but married and living in London. What this has also given a touch of internationality at this meeting.
Since her English and Italian students, there was a greater immediacy of learning, because the need to understand itself has made this necessity, virtue.
"The world is small," he says Aldo, telling how he met Mrs. Ana: accidentally in a museum in Lithuania and always accidentally found themselves in Bialystock, hometown Zamenhof, Poland, and even more casually you have read the announcement of this course ...
cities represented by the students were those of Rome (perhaps with more participants), Bologna, Florence, Milan, Turin, Venice, Lucca, even from Catania ... and also considering Daniela Ancona and Aldo but beginners are not absolutely!
The course began on Sunday, 20 cm with the arrival of the students and their companions in the hotel and ended 25 minutes ago, with a short stroll along the promenade after dinner to wind up in the most classic, but even the simplest, is the course that summer evening ... And then there's nothing better than a ice cream with friends and sitting on the wall stops the sand, laughing and joking? Then the greetings between people who had arrived in Senigallia and did not know and will share with the next day, in luggage, forty new friendly acquaintances. They will go, as I heard them say, happy and satisfied and a bit of nostalgia for the positive experience they have lived: pleasantly relaxed and satisfied for the welcome they received, mainly in educational and human way. Yes, because the Esperanto, as well as a language of peace and without political boundaries, is this too: friendship!
