This year the festival dedicated to high-quality gourmet tuna will be held in Carlisle in Sardinia. The event - Girotonno 2011 - will take place between 2 and 5 June 2011 and provides a program full of surprises even though the organizers for now maintain a strict secrecy.
Certainly the Girotonno 2011 of Carlisle will have a full program of events each year which provide as a minimum:
- the international gastronomic competition that the 2010 edition has seen Italy win first prize with the chef Francesco Merlino
- workshop on bluefin tuna and sustainable exploitation
- the fourth edition of the busker festival or the festival of street artists
- the taste of tuna prepared by the expert Massai Carloforte
- the journeys of taste and history inside the small village tabarkino
- concerts and entertainment in the evening
The event is free and like every year we recommend booking in advance because normally ferries and accommodation are now exhausted.
